What Do You Want to Create This Season? (Not Just Consume)
It’s the season of sparkle.
The season of sales.
The season of… stuffing our calendar, our cart, and our emotions.
But this year, before the month sweeps you away…
Pause.
Breathe.
Ask yourself:
What do I actually want to create this season?
Not just buy.
Not just check off.
But create… with intention, with heart, and with presence.
At The Journey to Nobody, we believe in this powerful truth:
You don’t know what you don’t know.
Which means…
You don’t have to keep doing December the way it’s always been done.
Why This Season Doesn’t Have to Be Default
This article isn’t about traditions that lift us up. It’s about how most people go into December on autopilot.
They follow old traditions that drain them, say yes to too much, and hope they can “just get through it.”
But what if this year didn’t have to be a blur of busyness with a couple highlights?
What if you didn’t just repeat the past… but re-designed the present?
Because you’re not here to survive the season.
You’re here to create something meaningful inside it.
The Consumption Loop vs. The Creation Choice
Consumption mode says:
“Buy more, do more, be more.”
“Say yes to everything.”
“Push through. There’s no time to stop.”
Creation mode says:
“What do I want this to feel like?”
“What energy do I want to bring into this room?”
“What kind of memories do I want to create?”
The difference? One leaves you exhausted. The other leaves you empowered.
The JTN Perspective: Step Into the Unknown
At JTN, we don’t tell you what to do.
We invite you to step into what you haven’t yet seen.
You don’t know what you don’t know.
Which means…
You get to ask new questions.
You get to explore fresh possibilities.
You get to design your life… not default it.
This season is your canvas.
So… what will you create?
Try This: A 5-Minute December Design Session
Take a moment this week to reset your holiday rhythm. Journal or think on these questions like these:
1. What do I want to FEEL this season?
(Example: peaceful, playful, connected, grounded.)
2. What will help create that feeling?
(Example: saying no to one event, creating space for rest, starting a new tradition.)
3. What’s one thing I can release this year?
(Example: unrealistic gift expectations, guilt around family roles, over-scheduling.)
4. What’s one thing I can create instead?
(Example: a handwritten letter, a day of presence with someone (no tech), a new memory.)
Reminder: You’re the Creator of This Season
You don’t need permission.
You don’t need to wait for everything to be perfect.
You don’t need to do it like anyone else.
You are already whole and complete.
You have everything you need to design December on purpose.
This is your season.
Make it yours.
Final Thought
Let this be the year you stop defaulting to the past.
Let this be the year you stop consuming the season… and start creating it.
Instead of repeating the past, what if you created the future right now?
